Photography: Blitzen Trapper and Wilco at Bayfront Festival Park (Duluth, MN)
Jeff Tweedy said last time they were in town, they were made honorary citizens of Duluth. Madison, WI got wind of this and made Wilco honorary citizens too! With the ball in our court, the Mayor of Duluth Don Ness came up and gave Tweedy the key to the city during “Hesitating Beauty”. How do you like them apples, Madison?
The nearly two-hour Wilco set went included two encores and a rendition of Happy Birthday to “Toast”. You can see the entire set list further down the article. This was my first time seeing Wilco and Blitzen Trapper so I don’t have a point of reference, but early comments from many people at the show said it was the best Wilco shows that they had ever been to. Scenery, great song choices and weather (we love our weather talk) made for a great concert experience for this photographer, no question.
